Hungry? How about a dumpling in Shanghai? China is a cornucopia of flavors: fiery Hunan, hot and numbing Sichuan, delicate Huaiyang dishes from Hangzhou, sour Guangxi, vinegary Shanxi, fruity Yunnan, and sweet and oily Shanghai dishes.

Around 60,000 glass beads and semi precious stones were buried with a nobleman at a 9th century burial chamber in the present day town of Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State, Nigeria. Part of a large excavation headed by Thurstan Shaw, the Igbo Ukwu artefacts are associated with the Nri-Igbo culture. Photos from the British Museum.
