Around 60,000 glass beads and semi precious stones were buried with a nobleman at a 9th century burial chamber in the present day town of Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State, Nigeria. Part of a large excavation headed by Thurstan Shaw, the Igbo Ukwu artefacts are associated with the Nri-Igbo culture. Photos from the British Museum.
